Yesterday, Katherine Boehret of the Wall Street Journal took a "test-drive" of 2 website-based trip planning aids - Tripit and Groopvine. These sites attempt to make your reservations more accessible and useful.
Tripit acts as a virtual assistant to generate schedules using your reservations; and Groopvine brings social networking to group travel plans.
Both travel sites became available in September, although Groopvine has been released only in its beta format at the moment.

Hi, Nice tips. i'm planning a trip with a group of friends for the spring. We're using a site called I'm in! (http://www.imin.com). It's a fun site - let's you track all the typical trip details (trip details, who's in, etc.) but the cool thing is that it has trip ideas that you can browse. If you like one you can save it and start editing it to use as your own trip plan or itinerary...
Thanks David,
I actually have a few other handy sites that I'll blog about over the weekend also. Will check out www.imin.com and may include it as well ....
